It was after breakfast that we set out to ride. We packed our lunches and water in our saddle bags along with our rain gear just in case! The day turned out to be really nice: the perfect weather for a day ride!
Now, when I arrived at the ranch I was a total beginner at riding and I was a bit scared when I was on a horse, but I learned to be more confident and have better control of the horse, especially after this ride. This ride was a new experience altogether I was feeling confident riding for this day long ride, I knew there were going to be steep slopes but it still didn’t shake my confidence. As we left the ranch onto the trail all confident, I felt like a real cowgirl! The ride was incredible! The view as the horses were climbing up were stunning, the colours were blending in with each other: brown, the various tones of green, the blue sky and the clouds and lakes. There were a few water stops on the way so that the horses were able to rest for a bit, drink and eat. The horses are just unbelievable! The trails and heights that they can endure along with human weights, saddle bags and they still have energy all day long! I know that I can put all my trust in them as they will get me to the top of the mountain!
When we arrived at Taylor Meadow another stunning view was awaiting us and even a little bit of snow. That is where we stopped to have lunch, our guide even showed us wild potatoes and we collected some to take back with us to the ranch! We spent a good amount of time at the meadow enjoying the view and calmness of the wilderness. As we went back down we could appreciate the view that was behind us on the way up!
