The first day Frank, our driver to the Ranch, picked me up in Vancouver. With two other people, Diana from Columbia and Konstantin from Germany, we drove 6 hours through the wilderness. On the Ranch I met a lot of working people and two guests, which were on the Ranch for 6 weeks.
I had 3 English lessons per day with the two other longtime guests and my Australian teacher. In my free time, between lunch and dinner, dinner and going to bed, I did a lot of things with Marcel, one of the guests. We shot with a bow and gave a lesson to other guests about "How to shoot with a bow", helped working on the ranch and I had my first horse-ride. It was amazing!
The second week I was on a pack trip tour for one week. We hiked 10 hours to the first camp named "Spruce Lake". At the camp I had the ESL Lessons too! We paddled with a boat on the Lake and I chopped wood the first time in my life. We reached the second camp, Eldorado, after some hours hiking on top of the mountains. The view was wonderful! At this camp I staked the horses for the first time, so that they could eat during the night. In both camps we had no electricity and in the second one, no flowing water. It was very interesting to live one week this way.
On the Sunday we rode 6 hours back to the Ranch with 25 horses. The other two guests left the first day of my last week. Now I am helping to work on the ranch, having ESL Lessons and having great food. On two days, we swam in a clear lake near the Ranch.
I really liked my three weeks on the Ranch, but I am happy to go back to Germany into my home, to my family and friends after five changing weeks in Canada!
