Even though it is winter time here in the south Chilcotin mountains, there is never a dull moment. The sunshine reflecting off of the snow beckons for the horse and rider to go break new trails to views of the mountain peaks glistening white. As the horses visible breath fills the air, so does the sound of wintry birds singing. Sometimes there appears to be an invisible friend walking alongside you as you follow tracks be it wolf or moose. And if you don't find sight of these forest friends, some never fail to be curious enough to come visit. A fisher showed up in the trees beside our office to say hello and the eagles do a fly by every once and awhile. With winter's day roseying our cheeks and filling our nose with the familiar scent of snow, dusk allows the fireside to invite us to an evening of warmth with our homemade family, a delicious meal and story telling. What more could one ask of the mountain life?
